OCEAN (Our Charlotte Elder Affairs Network) is a coalition of public and private health, human and social service organizations and others concerned with elder issues. Its purpose is to identify services in the Charlotte County area and to share that knowledge, to provide information and referral, to analyze unmet needs and advocate solutions and to increase public awareness of elder services in this area. Charlotte County Home Health Network (CCHHN) is a group of local home care professionals whose purposes are: to network together for mutual problem identification and resolution; to provide local public education/awareness about the merits of home health, to work together to promote quality of home health care in our community, and, to promote and provide educational presentations for health care professionals. www.cchhn.org

Designations

Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place.

Certified Graduate Associate (CGA) designation from the National Association of Home Builders, is awarded to those who successfully completed courses in business management, emerging technologies and market trends.

All About Aging in Place Monthly Seminars

Design Solutions! is affiliated with a group of concerned professionals who are offering free seminars once a month on Aging in Place. Aging in place means living in ones home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age or ability level. The seminar offers ideas for accessibility remodeling changes and home re-construction as well as presentations regarding social services, legal options, financing the decision to stay, and how to comfortably extend your years in your own home safely with in-home care.
